Alicia B. Harvey-Smith, Ph.D. is president and founder of A. B. Harvey-Smith Educational Consulting and Presentations, established in 1998 to provide quality consulting and customized presentations to individuals, businesses and organizations on a wide variety of topics.

A noted scholar and researcher with a distinguished record of accomplishment assisting clients in achieving targeted outcomes. With more than 25 years of combined experience in leadership, instruction, organizational dynamics, strategic planning, training and development, this dynamic consultant and researcher is a proponent of learner-centered leadership utilizing human capital strategies and integrated systems.

Dr. Harvey-Smith has also published original change models and her research on cultural transformation to improve the teaching and learning environment is cited in Bailey, T. A passionate teacher and ethical leader, Dr. Harvey-Smith has taught at the elementary, college and graduate school levels. She views leadership as a “calling to serve”. As a result, she is active on local, regional and national boards and provides customized presentations and training on a variety of topics including, diversity and equity, leadership, organizational redesign, authentic communication, civility, team building and strategic re-positioning. Considered an excellent consultant, she is described by clients as an exceptional presenter.

This talented educator has the distinction of writing the first dissertation exploring transforming student development practice using the learning paradigm and transforming college environments using learning college principles. This innovative research gave way to new models for examining organizational change and transformation.

Dr. Harvey-Smith is a graduate of Harvard University – School of Education Presidential Training Seminars, and the competitively selected leadership program for the Greater Baltimore Committee of Maryland. She earned a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland, College Park; Masters of Science from The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Morgan State University.
